Leek

Leeks come from the Mediterranean and have been cultivated for a long time, already known to the ancient Egyptians. In antiquity, leek was a sought-after vegetable. In the Middle Ages, leeks came to Central Europe from from Italy and spread rapidly. Belgium was at the heart of breeding projects in the 20th century.
