Maize

Maize includes both the grain maize used for for polenta, tortillas and popcorn as well as the sweet corn. Maize is an ancient crop from Central America. From the 16th century onwards, it gained popularity in Europe. Sweet corn is a mutation of corn maize in which the conversion from sugar to starch is delayed. In the 20th century other mutations were found in which the conversion is even more delayed, the so-called extra sweet varieties. As a result of our own intensive cultivation work, we are able to offer you extra sweet corn which also produces viable seeds.

  • Variety contains a high amount of starch. Skin glassy and tough, pops well when heated. Ensure that it is completely dried before usage. Very tasty.
