Seed aids

Seeds can be planted perfectly with seed carriers – embedded in fully biodegradable paper at the optimum distance. Gardeners no longer have to worry about sowing rates or pricking out. Deployment is also easy.

The seed carrier is placed in the ground, covered lightly with soil and watered in.

Seed discs are round, have a diameter of 10cm and are suitable for herbs that should be pre-cultivated in the greenhouse, on the windowsill or the balcony, or for container cultivation. Seed tapes are 5m long and narrow. They are particularly suitable for vegetables with small seeds such as carrots or radishes.

Seed carpets are rectangular and at 80x10cm are designed for window boxes. They offer enough space for a colorful mix of different plants. They are very popular for sowing salads.

Basil, large-sized Leaf - Herbs

The most famous Italian basil. Large, dark-green, curved leaves with the typical aroma. Given sufficient warmth, it will grow quickly and is relatively robust. Cultivate in bunches or as individual plants.

Variety is quick to grow and late to bolt. Deep green in colour. Very robust and resitant to mildew.

Chervil 'Commun' - Herbs

Annual, or if sown in August biennial plant for culinary use. Direct sowing preferable. Will quickly grow lanky in hot temperatures, hence successive sowings are best.

Chives 'Polyvert' - Herbs

Start off, and transplant in bunches. In order to be able to harvest the leaves over a long period, part of the leaves have to be cut prior to flowering. Chives are good for forcing if the root ball has been frozen hard.

Coriander - Herbs

Annual, or if sown in mild regions in autumn biennial culinary herb. Will grow to ca. 1 m in height. If required for seed, directly sow in spring. Seeds will ripen in August/September. Variety for seed production.

Versatile kitchen herb. Direct seeding preferable. Best to sow straight into the ground, although young plants are somewhat susceptible to slug damage. Same location should not be used too often.

Juicy variety, bred by Sativa with an emphasis on taste. Good storage, but also excellent for fresh consumption, harvest in summer. Time to maturity 120 days. Skin not likely to crack.

Very fast-growing, downy mildew resistant variety, suitable for cultivation outdoors as well as under glass or in polytunnels. Grows even faster than Vit.

Mixture of low-growing, delicate flowers. Contains amongst others: prickly poppy, summer pheasant's-eye, baby blue eyes, salvia horminum, silene, Mexican paintbrush, common poppy, dwarf lupin.

Elongated autumn radish, purple skin, white flesh. Keeps well.

Long White Ishikura - Onions

Does not grow onion-bulbs, but instead long, thick shafts. Suitable for bunching. If grown overwinter, ready in spring; if sown in summer, ready in autumn. Tolerant against thrip infestations. Very frost-hardy.

Mixture containing a diverse range of flavours. The large-leaf Red Giant variety matures a little slower, making it good for picking. Especially good for harvesting during the winter months or as an addition to a more rustic salad mix.
