Wild garlic - Herbs

kr61 (Allium ursinum)

A member of the allium family, wild garlic is a low, hardy perennial with large, oval-lanceolate leaves. Its white flowers are popular with insects. The aromatic leaves smell of garlic and can be used in cooking.

As it requires cold stratification, sowing in autumn is recommended. Prefers deep soils and a rather moist, partially shaded location. It multiplies quickly and forms clumps.
